Volunteering
Thank you for your interest in helping The Bear Project (TBP). Our volunteer program is integral to the success of our mission, which is to rescue and rehabilitate dogs so they can be adopted into safe and loving forever homes.
You can help TBP by volunteering in a number of ways:
Shelter/Adoption Center
We need help keeping the shelter clean, walking the dogs, playing with the dogs, bathing and/or grooming, and providing administrative assistance for those looking to adopt. The hours are very flexible. If you would be available to do any of these, drop us a line!
Training
TBP focuses on making dogs more adoptable by teaching them to walk on a leash and obey such basic commands such as “sit” and “stay.” You’d receive instruction from our staff or a professional dog trainer for this. You can make a difference just by teaching good doggie manners.
Fostering
TBP’s foster program allows us to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home even more animals. As a foster parent, you will take one or more pets to your home and nurture them (we provide everything you will need) until they are adopted. Some people choose to foster for a week; others for longer periods.
Professional Services
Professional services from veterinarians, trainers and groomers are always needed and greatly appreciated to help our dogs become adoption-ready. If you’re a pet professional and would be willing to give some of your very busy day (or evening), we would love to talk to you.
